Mental Health Therapist
Life is hard and there are times when we all need someone to lean on and talk about the things going through our head that are bringing our quality of life down. I hope to be that person for you. If you find yourself at an unhealthy stress level, wanting to improve the relationships with others/yourself, or wanting to develop more healthy thought patterns I hope to start a journey with you toward those new healthy goals. During our time together in session I will do my best to provide a safe space where you feel valued, safe, and heard while building a relationship of trust and understanding. We will walk together through your story, I will give you honest/action oriented feedback, and help you find tools that work for you to assist you on your journey toward a greater sense of freedom, meaning, and purpose.
I grew up in West Michigan and attended WMU for my education in clinical therapy. I have practiced yoga for over 20 years & have taught yoga for 10 years. I am a very recent cancer survivor as well. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2023. I have been through chemo, surgery, and radiation. I am here, on the other side and hope that I can use my experience to help others cope with chronic illness and also help those supporting loved ones with chronic illnesses.
I offer traditional talk therapy, play therapy, and also the option to combine talk/play therapy with breathwork, meditation, or simple movement (yoga therapy). I hope to assist people with a range of issues including self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships (infidelity processing, separation, divorce), cancer/chronic illness coping/supporting. I am LGBTQ affirming.
Therapy is a unique experience for each person. Finding someone who makes you feel comfortable and listened to is one of the most important pieces of your journey. I would be honored to help you move towards a happier and more fulfilling life. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
